Welcome to The Cats of Crail books. In case you didn’t know already, Crail is a real place. It’s on the East coast of Scotland, across the Firth of Forth from Edinburgh. Luna and Bee are real as well; Bee is Luna’s daughter.
We brought them with us when we moved here as a family, and it soon became apparent that they had made their own feline friends. The constant stream of whiskered neighbours became a delight to behold. It was while I was watching the two of them that the idea for The Cats of Crail was born.
I used to be a primary school teacher, and for me the best part of each school day was reading aloud to the class. I’ve always wanted to write stories which would give pleasure to everyone who heard them.
I hope you enjoy the books, and for young readers with enquiring minds I’ve added some questions at the end of each book.
